I went to collect my (dear) bike from where I had (affectionately) chained it- to find some rotter had stolen both saddle-pole and seat.
I assume that the person needed to get from A to B in some kind of crazy hurry on a bike lacking a seat, and that since Totnes' recycling centre has been shut down there no longer access to second hand bikes and bike parts- their only other option was to nick mine (it was over the bank holiday weekend- no shops being open). I would like to think it may find its way back to me, but by now, peddling fast, the thief could be in Dorset. I guess it could have been worse...
Next Town Crier will be a local grass roots campaign fusion:
No To Costa
Give Us Back Our Recycling Centre
No to KEVIC School Uniform

This has driven home to me, quite painfully, the loss of the recycling centre.
