There is a
No To Costa open meeting in the Seven Stars ball room tonight at 6.30- there will be great independent fairtrade coffee to be drunk (and other beverages for those that don't want to be awake with he caffeine shakes all night ;-), a campaign update, and discussion of next step campaign plans.
Unfortunately i can't attend as I'm Town Criering- but i have (gulp!) invited the campaign to call in for (my first!) on air telephone interview...
So, why say no to Costa in Totnes?
#1 No to distant shareholders and corporations
Yes to Totnes businesses supporting local suppliers
#2 No to undermining our tourist trade
Yes to keeping Totnes a special place to visit
#3 No to more chain stores
Yes to locally owned shops
#4 No to the threat to local jobs
Yes to the needs of our community
#5 No to losing our individual character
Yes to what makes Totnes unique
