Today I got a good taking to from a dear friend - a Totnesian local, a bright Bosnian creative writer :- "Get on it-" she said, pointing out my sun sign and giving me a big smile- "Blog."
It would be foolish not to take the good advices of women-such-as-that-
So I shall.
This week I'm going toThe Come Alive! concert, being put on by students at KEVICC on Wednesday 23rd.
Last year I took my daughter to this concert, and we were both blown away by the quality of the music, compositions and performance. There was jazz, blues, rock and roll, classic piano, and singer song writers of distinction.
I blogged about last year's Transition Youth Theatre performance earlier in these posts, and I thought i recognised quite a few of the same faces involved in both productions. I'm guessing The Come Alive Concert will be have a different bunch of students involved now as its a whole year later- so I'm looking forwards to hearing new acts as well as how the playing of the students' from last year's event has evolved.
Tomorrow I'm meeting with the organiser Angus at the concert rehearsal, and will be taking some interviews with the performers, and I'll be helping record the concert on the night. If you can't make the show itself - 7pm on Wednesday - there will be a Concert Radio Hour on Soundart Radio --- scheduled in for Sunday 31st 6-8pm ---
So, a double win: Soundart gets local original amazing content, and The Earth Inheritors and student musicians get to big up their efforts and promote themselves near and far on their local/ international community radio. Sweeeeet.
